We offer the full range of treatment options across the entire spectrum of facial rejuvenation procedures.
Facial rejuvenation can be achieved with:
All our facial rejuvenation procedures are performed by fully qualified specialist facial plastic surgeons.
What is a facial plastic surgeon?
To become a facial plastic surgeon, after graduating from medical school, a doctor must first complete his/her specialist training in one of four specialities to become a specialist surgeon. This will lead to a certificate of completion of training in one of the four specialities listed below.
These are:
To become a facial plastic surgeon, they must then complete a specialist 18 month international fellowship in facial plastic surgery. This encompasses both AESTHETIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE surgery at the world’s leading centres for facial plastic surgery. Belgium, The USA, Sweden and Australia are highly respected centres for facial plastic surgery. The entire training process takes over 10 years from completion of medical school
Why choose a facial plastic surgeon?
Our facial plastic surgeons are able to perform the full range of facial rejuvenation procedures, from full facelifts and nose-reshaping surgery all the way to advising on facial skin care. A facial plastic surgeon ONLY performs procedures in the face and neck region. We would recommend avoiding practitioners who are qualified to perform only facial injectable treatments to carry out your facial rejuvenation needs. This includes nurses, GPs, cosmetic/aesthetic doctors and dentists.
Why should I avoid facial injectables performed by nurses, GPs, cosmetic/aesthetic doctors and dentists?
The key unifying theme that links all the above professionals is their attendance at a 2 day training course on facial injectables. The courses are usually named ‘2 day weekend Botox and Dermal filler course’. We would recommend you type in this phrase on a search engine to see what you find. A facial plastic surgeon has had 18 months of continuous educational exposure across the entire breadth of facial rejuvenation procedures – both surgical and injectable treatments. This is on top of their specialist training in one of the 4 surgical specialities listed above. More than 30% of facial procedures we perform are for correcting facial complications from injectables performed by one of the aforementioned practitioner types.
What is the difference between a general plastic surgeon and a facial plastic surgeon?
A general plastic surgeon will perform surgery across the full breadth of cosmetic surgery – this includes breast, body and face surgery. A facial plastic surgeon ONLY performs surgery on the face and neck region. The margin for error in breast and body surgery is measured in centimetres. The margin for error in facial rejuvenation procedures is measured in MILLIMETRES. Being a full-time dedicated facial specialist means treatment outcomes are superior because of higher case volumes. For example, a general plastic surgeon may perform perhaps 2-3 rhinoplasties (nose-reshaping surgery) per month mixed in with breast enlargements, tummy tucks and female genital surgery. A facial plastic surgeon will usually perform around 15-16 rhinoplasty procedures each month.
Why choose London Lipo Institute for your facial rejuvenation needs?
All aspects of your facial rejuvenation care, whether facial surgery or facial injectables, and from initial consultation all the way through to the aftercare consultation – will be delivered by a facial plastic surgeon. All facial plastic surgeons have extensive experience in revision surgery for your peace of mind. Competence in revision surgery requires extensive reconstructive expertise which can only be learnt through a specialist facial plastic surgery fellowship.
What happens at my facial rejuvenation consultation?
All aspects of your needs and preferences will be discussed. The issue of what can be done and what cannot be done will be fully covered. The full range of surgical and injectable options specific to you as an individual will be covered in depth. The single most important aspect of a successful outcome is meticulous patient selection. Please remember that any facial rejuvenation procedure proposed – whether surgical or injectable – is an INVASIVE medical procedure with potential risks and complications. We always perform thorough psychological profiling to assess your suitability for any proposed facial intervention. IN APPROXIMATELY 30% OF ALL CASES ASSESSED, WE WILL NOT PROCEED TO PERFORM A FACIAL INTERVENTION – SURGICAL OR INJECTABLE.
A famous surgical pearl of wisdom…”A good surgeon knows how to operate, a better surgeon knows when to operate but the best surgeon knows when not to operate.”

Facial Surgery
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat, usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids.
Facelift and necklift surgery (rhytidectomy)
A facelift can improve the most visible signs of ageing by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck.
Nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose (“nose job”), is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can alter the size or shape of your nose, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip.
Browlift surgery
With age, the forehead becomes slack and this often causes the eyebrows to drop. This gives the eyes a more aged appearance and causes skin excess in the upper eyelids. The process can be reversed by surgery.
Ear correction surgery
If you are considering ear correction surgery, there may be some questions you’d like answered. Ear surgery, pinnaplasty or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears.
Chin procedures
We are able to perform chin augmentation surgery using implants to correct receded chins and also chin reduction surgery to reduce the prominence of large chins.
Cheek implants
A cheek implant is a very effective technique to restore cheek volume. We also offer cheek augmentation using your own transferred fat.
Lip procedures
The most common procedure for the lips is lip augmentation. We also offer lip reduction surgery and surgery to lift the upper lip to both increase shape and profile.
Neck liposuction
Liposuction of the neck is a procedure that must be performed with care and precision to create an aesthetically pleasing contour.
Facial injectables
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
Facial skin care
The importance of facial skin care will emphasised at your facial rejuvenation consultation. Our facial plastic surgeons are able to advise on a comprehensive programme for your facial skin care.
Facial skin care is optimised by following a health lifestyle. The importance maintaining good health cannot be underestimated. A healthy body has many benefits in helping to maintain. Implementing a healthy lifestyle choices is a key factor for optimising facial skin care. Sensible lifestyle choices include regular exercise, a healthy diet, adequate rest, stress management techniques, and avoidance of factors than can have a negative effect on health.
The importance of avoiding smoking
Smoking is detrimental to general health, including the body’s ability to cope with stress and the quality of the skin. Chemical agents in the smoke trigger constriction of blood vessels in the body, reducing the amount of oxygen that is available to the skin. Over time this results in promoting aging of the skin with the formation of lines, wrinkles and loss of facial volume. In addition the contraction of the lips while smoking, results in the promotion of lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Wrinkles also develop around the eyes due to smokers closing their eyes to avoid the smoke and a loss of facial volume.
Smoking also results in the generation of carbon monoxide in the blood, this induces the formation of free radicals that are harmful to soft tissues and cells promoting toxicity and facial ageing. Cigarette smoke contains nicotine that promotes constriction of blood vessels in the body, reducing blood flow and oxygen transport to the skin. All these effects mean smoking can seriously impair your healing from facial surgery.
The steps to achieving good facial skin care:
How do we optimise patient safety and treatment outcomes? Our three step process to optimising treatment outcomes:
(1) After your consultation, your case will be discussed at our weekly case conference. All our surgeons will discuss your case to determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Research evidence has shown that the quality of treatment is directly influenced by having the proposed treatment plan submitted to independent rigorous scrutiny by surgical colleagues operating in the same specialist area.
(2) After the case conference, in more than one third of all cases assessed, we will not proceed to perform surgery. One must always be aware that cosmetic surgery is an invasive surgical procedure despite being performed for aesthetic reasons. Patient safety always comes first and we do not compromise on this vital pillar of maintaining outstanding treatment outcomes.
(3) On the day of your procedure, you will have two surgeons working collaboratively to perform your procedure. One surgeon will always have ultimate responsibility for your care. The latest research evidence confirms superior treatment outcomes when two expert surgeons are performing a procedure together than with one surgeon alone. Cosmetic surgery is a procedure which must be performed with the utmost care and precision. The interaction between two experts working together means your procedure will be safer and performed with better aesthetic outcomes.
